Blessing Bank

Monday, December 30, 2013

Got this idea from a friend, who posted it on Facebook. This is our Blessing Bank for the new year. Any positives, memories, funny moments, or accomplishments will go onto a piece of paper and then into this jar. On New Year's Eve 2014, we'll read all of the "blessings" to remember and rejoice in the small moments we may have forgotten.

Hoping 2014 is a little nicer to us than 2013 was. Either way, God provided and got us through some pretty tough trials. Glory to Him always, in all things.

All the Christmas stuff is now put away, so I made a new banner for January.

Yes, I'm already done with Christmas. This year has been a tough one and we're all exhausted. Lucky me -- I get to start the new year out with jury duty.

Yippee...

Christmas 2013

Thursday, December 26, 2013

I trust your Christmas was wonderful, as was ours! We enjoyed dinner with family, a beautiful candlelit service at church, and then new jammies and The Nativity movie on Christmas Eve and then lots of fun presents, more family, games, and yummy food on Christmas Day at our house and at Cher's. We were blessed to have my Aunt Janice and Cousin Emily with us this year, but we missed my grandparents, who are in Arizona again this year. Still a wonderful time was had!

A very Merry Christmas from our family to yours!

Penguin Gift Card Holder

Sunday, December 22, 2013

Made a last-minute critter that doubles as a gift card holder. Isn't he adorable?!

Merry & Bright Banner

Wednesday, December 18, 2013

I'm not as crafty with paper as some of my friends, but I have to say I'm pretty proud of my banner. I made each flag in Photoshop, using digital scrapbook papers from Paper Street Designs. I hope to keep this up and change the words throughout the year. It's a nice thought, anyhow!

Craft Bazaar 2013

Tuesday, December 10, 2013

Survived another Craft Bazaar! Despite the weather being cold and nasty, God blessed me and allowed me to be even more successful than last year. We can definitely use the money. Here's my VERY FULL table. I sold a good portion of items and have a few possible custom orders in the future. Now to work on a few current custom orders and gifts for family. Hoping for some downtime after the 20th. Hoping!

Check out the shop for new items and leftovers from the bazaar. Shipping deadline is December 21st. Expedited deadline is December 23rd.

Attention Southern Idaho Peeps!

Busy, Busy, Busy Hands!

Tuesday, December 3, 2013

It's been full steam ahead towards the upcoming Craft Bazaar for the past several months. That's right -- we're doing this again, baby! I've been working extremely hard to both fulfill custom orders and create inventory for my table at the bazaar, I'm surprised I'm not crippled. Ha! 53 items and counting are going to fill my single six-foot table, so I'm praying that this year is a success!

Here are some of the items I've made since I last posted:

Elf Hats! These have gained popularity, as of late. The two on the bottom were custom orders and the top is for the bazaar (BSU-themed). I love these because people are asking for them in their favorite sports team colors, or their kids' school colors. What a fun and warm way to root on your little football player!

I love this Teddy Bear pattern. So sweet and ingenious in it's shaping and design. All three are headed to the bazaar, but the dark red one is a donation item for the door prizes they will be giving away.

Thanks to a particular song EVERYONE knows (including my boys, verbatim), foxes are VERY popular right now. I made three of the hats for a church friend for her kids for Christmas and the plushie is for the bazaar.

These Circle Jackets were a custom order for two little girls. Not my style, but Mom loved them.

I thought these Knotted Headbands were pretty sweet. Also headed to the bazaar.

A lovely dark red Fringed Shawl for the bazaar. Yummy.

These little guys are also very popular. Made a girl and boy for the bazaar. They would make sweet baby shower gifts.

This Sweet Eleanor Scarf was part of the custom order that contained the Circle Jackets. Love it in this dark red!

And finally, I made these cute Mini Stocking Ornaments to give away to my first ten Craft Bazaar customers as a thank you.

Praying this year is a success and all this hard work pays off! If you're local, we invite you to join us at Magic Valley Bible Church, 204 Main Ave. N., Twin Falls on Friday, December 6th, 10am-8pm and Saturday, December 7th, 10am-6pm. There will be door prizes, food, and a wide variety of local vendors from all around the area. Come support local business!

Yet another baby shower gift. Love his ears!

Bouncy Ball Baby Blanket, Button Loafers, Moose & Brin's Sweetheart Sweater

Thursday, October 31, 2013

I've been so insanely busy!!! I can't believe this YEAR is almost gone! It went ZOOM! Here's some projects I just recently finished. Far from done with my list, though.

Custom order Bouncy Ball Baby Blankets for Kathy, my step-mom, for two coworkers who are due to have babies in November.

Shoes to match the blankets.

I feel like I'm constantly making baby shower gifts. Here's a Moose for a family of hunters from our church. It's so cute, it hurts!

Finally, I hit an all-time low. I made a dog sweater for my dog. In all fairness, Lil Miss INeedACheeseburger actually NEEDED it. She gets cold really easily. So, here's Brin's Sweetheart Sweater.

She's Ours!

Brin is home from her spaying and is officially a Marshall! Yay!

Brinley

Monday, October 14, 2013

This is our temporary/potentially permanent house guest for the next week, thanks to the Twin Falls Animal Shelter. Not sure about her age, but we think she's younger than Charlotte. She is super sweet, gentle, eager to please, and gets along okay with Charlotte (Charlotte, a.k.a. "the diva", wasn't thrilled about the idea at first, but she's coming around). She acts as if she's always been with us and I think she will be a great addition to our family! We have named her Brinley (Brin for short) for her beautiful brindle color and she is a Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua Mix.

Isn't she a doll? We just love her!

Grilled Thanksgiving Anyone?

Thursday, October 3, 2013

My dear husband...

While waiting to get checked in at one of his stops, he decides to enter a giveaway for a grill. We never win anything, but a boy can dream, right? Months pass...and we find out he's won the stupid thing. I am still in shock. I'm still trying to sweet talk him into selling it and buying me a nice lens. No dice.

Thanking God for the fun things He didn't have to give us. Too bad it's so stinkin' cold and a propane tank isn't in the budget.

Pumpkin Rice Krispies Treats

Wednesday, October 2, 2013

Made these for Drew's Cubbies group. I should have added more color, but oh well. I don't normally do cutesy treats, so this is a major accomplishment for me.

You can find the recipe here, thanks to Pinterest.

Crazy Hat Night

Crazy Hat Night @ AWANA. Drew in a pirate hat with skull and crossbones, Matt in a Colorado flag hat, and Rob in a "Bee-Do" Minion hat, all made by yours truly.

A sweet capture of my boys.

My hottie husband donning his new Colorado Hat I made him for Crazy Hat Night. I have such a crush on him, still. =)

We Survived!

Friday, September 13, 2013

With Rob starting kindergarten and co-op and both boys in AWANA, it really changed our normal routine at home. Suddenly, I was shuttling Rob to Filer (about a 10-15 minute drive from us) four days a week and then to co-op at the church on Friday. And I only had to "supervise" one child during the day. It really threw me off. But we made it through our first week, unscathed, but quite pooped. You really take for granted having little ones in the house until they suddenly have a social/academic schedule!

Here's my Cubbie and my Sparkie on the first night of AWANA. They both had a blast and are looking forward to the year!

The boys finished off our busy week by helping Daddy wash the truck. I supervised. It's what I'm good at. We covered that, if you recall.

Rob LOVES school and loves co-op even more (when I came to pick him up, he asked if he could stay and do more classes). Drew is having a hard time adjusting to not being able to do what Brother is doing, but has enjoyed having the TV and toys to himself for a change. I'd like to think he's enjoying his time with me, but I would just being lying to make myself feel better. And me? I'm tired. Extremely tired. But it's a good growing/stretching/adapting tired. I'm just glad tomorrow's Saturday and I don't have to do anything but crochet!
